Place de Jaude

A vibrant gathering point, Place de Jaude is set in the middle of the city. The square features an imposing statue of Vercingetorix, the Gaul hero who stopped Julius Caesar, sitting imperiously on a horse and holding a glaive, and is home to some of the most iconic monuments of Clermont-Ferrand, such as the Opera Theatre.

The whole area is home to architectural treasures, museums, castles and some of France’s richest Roman heritage.
